Southern Medicine & Surgery, Volume 109, No. 4, April 1947. Personal poetry books include
The Loves of the Angels by Thomas Moore (published in 1844) and a reprint of
Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam (Edward FitzGerald translation). The medical booklet is a 1907 copy of
Thornton's Pocket Medical Formulary. Images in this collection are printed and tin-type formats. Images are of Dr. Joseph E. Wilson, Cordelia Wilson (wife), William Jesse Wilson (father), a child of Joseph and Cordelia, and the family home. Included in this collection is Dr. Wilson’s Southern Medical Association membership card. The membership was received November 14, 1916 during the 10th Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA. The cost was $3 for the year. The Southern Medical Association was founded in 1906 as a scientific body of physicians dedicated to fostering the art and science of medicine through education.
