    Papers of physician Hassell Brantley consisting mainly of personal class notes while at Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, list of medical school graduates, and transcriptions of some of the notes.

  • Biographical / Historical Note
     

    Hassell Brantley was born 8 July 1867 to Green and Rebecca (Ballentine) Brantley. In 1888, he graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He practiced medicine in Spring Hope, North Carolina from 1893 to 1943. Brantley married Ida Westray in 1894. His son, Julian C. Brantley, graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1916 and joined his father in medical practice circa 1919.
