The collection consists twenty-two black and white interior and exterior photographs of the WNCT television station and the station employees. The photographs are believed to be from the 1950s.

Biographical/historical information

WNCT-TV first aired under the call sign WNCT on December 22, 1953. Originally owned by The Daily Reflector, along with the radio station WGTC, WNCT served as the primary CBS affiliate for eastern North Carolina while also broadcasting content for ABC up until 1963. In 1961, Roy H. Park purchased both the Daily Reflector and WNCT and added the WGTC radio station shortly after in 1963. Following the acquisition by Park, WNCT added its "-TV" suffix to avoid confusion with the newly rebranded WNCT-AM-Fm radio station. WNCT-TV remained a central part of Roy H. Park's Park Communications until the company was purchased by the Media General media company based out of Richmond, Virginia. Today, WNCT-TV is recognized as the oldest operating television station in eastern North Carolina and is the fourth oldest in North Carolina. WNCT-TV is based out of its Greenville studio and serves Greenville along with Washington, New Bern, and Jacksonville, North Carolina.

The collection consists twenty-two interior and exterior photographs of the WNCT television station and the station employees. The photographs are believed to be from the 1950s. The photographs were originally housed in two small photgraph albums but were removed and housed individually.
