| Abstract: | The Robin Brabham Collection contains unrelated materials from several Civil War soldiers. The Thomas Midgett papers contain an oath, a parole and safe conduct documents issued by a Union Army officer to Midgett of Croatan, N.C., in 1864. The other documents (1864-1866) are related to Union Army soldiers and include records of Major N. H. Foster of 1st Battalion, 12th U.S. Colored Heavy Artillery, of Lt. Col. H. A. Oakman of 30th Regiment, U.S. Colored Troops and certificates of discharge by reason of death of members of Co. A., 2nd Regiment of Artillery, Massachusetts Volunteers. |

U.S. Army, miscellaneous records, 1864-66. Twenty-two items, including records of Lieutentant, then Major, N. H. Foster, 1st Battalion, 12th U.S. Colored Thomas Midgett Papers, 1864 and 1976. Four items, including oath and parole issued to Heavy Artillery, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, including statement of charges, Feb. 17, 1865, against Pvt. Henry Smith for “sleeping on post” (nine items); and records of Lt. Col. H. A. Oakman, 30th Regiment, U.S. Colored Troops, in eastern N.C. (ten items); and three certificates of discharge by reason of death of members of Co. A, 2nd Regt. Of Artillery, Massachusetts Volunteers. Donor: Robin Brabham.
