Scope and arrangement

Items in this collection include fourteen issues (1943-1945) of Recognition Journal containing photos and articles on the latest weaponry, enemy tactics, recognition tips and quizzes, rescue operations, and rating information for all air and surface craft, and a recognition manual (1946) and sheet (1945) issued to servicemen for spotting operations during World War II.

Also included in the collection are a pamphlet on the N3N-3 biplane, UNC-Chapel Hill Navy flight school yearbooks (1942-1943), church bulletins (1946) from Oahu, Christmas Day menu and staff flyers from Kaneohe (1944-1945), and an article on the demise of the Japanese battleships MUSHASI and YAMATO (1945).
