An account book (1857-1859, 1882-1890) records the payment and receipt of money for a variety of goods. It also includes an 1859 estimate for the value of six enslaved persons and the 1890 account of sales for the estate of Hugh Woods.
Also included are a promissory note for $60 (March, 1849) and a letter from a tobacconist in Richmond, Virginia (October, 1866), discussing the price of tobacco and the costs involved in its transportation and sale.
