The Purple Gallinule

Abstract:
Although the purple gallinule is a game bird in North Carolina, they are rarely hunted because they are seldom found in sufficient numbers. They are more plentiful in South Carolina and further south. Southeastern North Carolina is the northernmost limit of this bird.
