Abstract:
Channelization of streams for the purpose of flood control has been a highly controversial subject for the past ten years. This approach has a devastating effect on streams and wetlands and has aroused the concern of conservation interests. A rationale for the development of a North Carolina policy on this highly controversial issue is presented.
