Thomasville, located southwest of High Point in eastern Davidson County, has grown from a population of 308 in 1860 to 20,000 today. The town was founded in 1852 by John W. Thomas. Thomasville boasts the world's largest chair as its centerpiece in recognition of its furniture-making heritage.
