Abstract:
One of the most important waterfowl species in the state is the black duck. This duck is a fine game bird and is a challenge to hunters because of his wary manner and elusive habits. In the 1960-1961 hunting season, it made up 13.7 percent of the statewide duck bag. The black duck is the largest of the puddle ducks and is a fine eating bird.
