Abstract:
Tillery Lake, located on the Pee Dee River in Stanley and Montgomery Counties, was created in the late 1920s when the Carolina Power and Light Company built a hydroelectric power dam on the river. It is also one of the most important lakes for sports fishing in the state. Tatum discusses the lake's history, access, accommodations, and fish population, which includes white and largemouth bass, bluegill, walleye, and catfish.
