Madison, population 2,500, is located in Rockingham County. It is a town with a sense of nostalgia, as evidenced by its stores, including Madison Dry Goods Co.; its stately homes dating back to 1810; and its 1920 clock tower, Modern textile mills, including Mayo Yarn and Unifi, bolster its economic base.
