Abstract:
There were three orders of nobility in the Colony of Carolina by the Lord’s Proprietors. The Landgraves, the Caciques and the Palatines. The Palatines were not an order of Nobility, it was a single executive office, the supreme head of the government and higher than the nobility. There is a list of Palatines and Landgraves and their year of succession.
