Over $21 Million Spent in State on Telephone Construction in 1958

The telephone needs of North Carolina are rapidly expanding, and this has been keeping companies like Southern Bell very busy. Last year, more than 42000 telephones were gained in North Carolina, and the total cost of construction was over $21 million. New officers, cable projects, and extensions of current lines also took place in 1958.
