Tennis in North Carolina: For the Love of the Game

Abstract:
Tennis began in North Carolina in the late 19th-century when a professor constructed a backyard court in the home of UNC President Kemp Plummer Battle. Thanks to the efforts of the North Carolina Tennis Foundation, the sport has spread through the state with now over 35,000 members.
