Fayetteville Boosts Its Port

Record #:
15357
Abstract:
Fayetteville has made use of its inland port on the Cape Fear River. Members of the Chamber of Commerce took part in a trip through the newly constructed third lock in May 1938. Another improvement included a dredged channel between Wilmington and Fayetteville. Improvements to the river were expected to benefit Fayetteville and increase the city's population.
