Estelle Lawson Page became a golfer in 1931 and went on to a very successful athletic career. In 1938 she clinched the Women's Carolinas' Golf tournament in Linville, N.C. Her other accolades included: National Women's Amateur Golf Champion, placed and won at the Mid South medal tourney, and chosen for the Curtis Cup team to face off against Britain's best female golfers.
