Abstract:

The article chronicles the events surrounding the unveiling of statues of Presidents Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk, and Andrew Johnson. It was erected near the capitol building to honor the North Carolinians who went on to become president. Whimsically, the author wonders what kind of conversations the figures would have if they came to life.
