Abstract:

The current chairman of the board for the most lucrative firm between Washington and Miami, Rush S. Dickson of the R.S. Dickson & Company, has distributed nearly $2 billion dollars worth of securities throughout North Carolina since 1919. By providing capital to deserving companies directly or through syndicate form, Rush Dickson has played a major role in the success of Duke Power Company, Champion Paper and Fibre Company, Carolina Power and Light, Textiles-Inc., Drexel Furniture Company, Piedmont Natural Gas, J.B. Ivey & Company, Rose's Five and Ten Cent Stores, as well as many other firms throughout the state.
