Abstract:

Heins Telephone Company, a small, family-owned firm headquartered in Sanford, serves about 16,000 customers with 30,000 telephones in Lee and Harnett Counties and in small areas of Chatham and Moore counties. It is the parent corporation of Heins Communications, a new independent interconnect company, or long distance phone service. James E. Heins, grandson of the founder, is company president and CEO.
