The Grove Park Inn was built by Edwin Wiley Grove, who had made a fortune in patent medicines. Construction began in 1912 and was finished in 1913. Often called \"the finest resort hotel in the world,\"Â the Inn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
