Abstract:
The Flood Control Committee of the Wilkes Chamber of Commerce, assisted by Senator W. Kerr Scott, has organized the construction of a dam across the Yadkin River. Implemented to prevent flooding, construction of the dam has led to the creation of a 1500 acre lake, 802 acres of which will be available for public access and recreational use.
