Abstract:

H. Horton Roundtree, a native of Farmville, represents the Eighth House District (Pitt and Greene Counties) in the North Carolina General Assembly. In the 1977 session he holds the office of Speaker Pro Tempore, the third legislator to hold the office since its creation in 1973. Horton is discussed in this ongoing series of brief profiles of major newly elected and appointed state officials.
