Abstract:
Parkwood, near Carthage in Moore County, was once a thriving manufacturing village, but for the past forty years it has stood vacant. No people move about the quiet streets or occupy the houses. Once the inhabitants manufactured millstones. Only small animals and insects live there now. No one knows why the town is unoccupied.
