K&S Tool and Manufacturing Co. is a runner-up in the 2008 BUSINESS NORTH CAROLINA Small Business of the Year competition. Joe Hughes started the company in High Point in 1974. K&S, a contract manufacturer of metal parts, employs seventy-seven and projects revenues in 2008 of $13 million.
