Fifty years ago Gurney Harriss Kearns left a successful career as a furniture industry executive to venture into the field of hosiery manufacture. Today the company he founded in High Point, Crown Mills, Inc., is one of the country's leading hosiery producers. The article traces the history and growth of the company.
