The North Carolina Citizens Association presented That Eure, North Carolina Secretary of State, with its Citation for Distinguished Public Service at its annual meeting. Eure's forty-six years as Secretary of State is a national record for that office and also a record for all statewide offices in North Carolina.

Abstract:
The North Carolina Citizens Association presented its Citation for Distinguished Citizenship to Carl Horn, Jr. at its annual meeting. Horn became president and chief executive officer of Duke Power Company in 1971 and retired in 1982.

F. J. Boling, Jr. is president of The Boling Company. Founded in 1904 in Siler City, the company makes chairs for offices, schools, homes, and other institutions. The firm still operates in its original location, although it has expanded there and elsewhere.
