Abstract:
Paul N. Howard, Jr. and his brother William founded the Paul N. Howard Company in Greensboro in 1950. The company is recognized as one of the country's major contractors and has recently expanded into the international market with multi-million dollar projects in Haiti and the Middle East. Paul Howard recently assumed the presidency for one year of the 8,000-member Associated General Contractors of America. Howard is featured in We the People of North Carolina magazine's Businessman in the News.

Abstract:
The North Carolina Citizens Association presented this year's Citation for Distinguished Public Service to Terry Sanford, the former Governor of North Carolina. Sanford is currently president of Duke University.
