Ideal Cement Company has formally dedicated its new North Carolina plant at Castle Hayne. The storage, packing and bulk shipping facilities are complete. The cement plant is under construction and scheduled for completion in June 1963.

In January 1906 the Globe Parlor Furniture Company began operations in High Point with fifteen workers. From the beginning Globe focused on upholstered furniture. Today, the company operates in a 100,000 square-foot facility and has grown from a regional manufacturer to a national one.
