Created by the Cowans Ford Dam, Lake Norman, named for former Duke Power Company President, Norman A. Cocke, is North Carolina's largest lake. Covering 32,500 acres with 520 miles of shoreline in Catawba, Lincoln, Iredell, and Mecklenburg Counties, Lake Norman is in the process of being zoned for commercial and residential development. \r\n
