A four-lane highway under construction, extending from Raleigh to Grover, will help move goods and people across North Carolina. Connecting to existing highways, U.S. 1, 501, 15, 421, 311, 64, and 21, the new highway will relieve congestion and make more areas accessible to travelers.

The Western North Carolina Associated Communities has begun improvements and beatification of roadsides in the western part of the state. Tree planting, debris collection, and the creation of roadside turn-outs and picnic areas, describe the immediate efforts of the organization.
