Abstract:
Since its beginning Burlington has been a progressive industrial center, and it is one of the best business towns in the state. The city has twenty-four hosiery mills, with seventeen others scattered around the state. Twenty-six textile mills manufacture rayon, flannels, mattress felt, and other items. Over fifty other industries make everything from coffins to ice cream. Fairchild Aircraft has just opened and will be turning out planes soon.
