In this continuing series of articles on the various departments of North Carolina state government, Sadler discusses the North Carolina Historical Commission. This commission has the responsibility of collecting and preserving information relating to the history of North Carolina. Among the collection are 5,000 manuscript volumes, over 1,000 maps, and 250 state newspapers dating from 1751. Dr. A.R. Newsome heads the commission.
