Nation Hahn, a consultant for the education advocacy group EdNC, strives to make sure students in North Carolina have enough healthy food. Hahn believes that when students' basic needs are met, they're able to learn better, and with learning comes leadership. Hahn received INDY’s Citizen Award for his efforts toward youth development and making communities healthier.

Every Tuesday night, Scharpling has phone conversations with Chapel Hill’s Jon Wurster, who portrays a fake caller from the fictional town of Newbridge, New Jersey. The eccentric phone conversations feature comedy and music critiques.

Abstract:
Tift Merritt, a country soul singer and songwriter, recently moved back to Raleigh following a break-up and a period of intense transition. Reflecting on her life, Merritt reissued Bramble Rose, the debut LP she released on Lost Highway fourteen years ago.
