Al Strong is a trumpet player who is at the center of the jazz renaissance in the Triangle Area. A music professor and performer, Strong co-founded Durham’s Art of Cool Festival, a spring music festival that features jazz, soul, and R&B music.

Abstract:

In 2016, a new public television series called Reel South will air on UNC-TV and other public channels across the South. The series is a collaboration between UNC-TV, the Southern Documentary Fund, and South Carolina Educational Television and includes documentaries about the American South, not just North Carolina.
