State republicans proposed a Voter ID Bill at a March public hearing. The bill, supported by a projected 75 percent of the state's population, would require all voters to present some form of photo identification before voting. Former Governor Bev Perdue vetoed this same bill in 2011, arguing it would deter legitimate voters from the polls.

Abstract:
Though crime rates have fallen in Durham incidents of domestic violence remain high. The Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC) responds to these calls, though employees say that many incidents of abuse go unreported. DCRC is responsible for about 250 calls per month and aids 1,500-2,000 victims of domestic violence and sexual assault each year.

Seventeen acres of deserted farmland outside of Raleigh have been reclaimed in a new entertainment venture. Michael Tiemann is building Manifold Recording Studio, a new, high-tech facility for music and video production. His goal is to attract state and national artists to his Frank Lloyd Wright inspired facility to collaborate, record, and engineer experiences.
