In the fall of 2002, the North Carolina General Assembly enacted a new law that more clearly defined the role of public health in responding to bioterrorism.Â The law, called the 2002 Bioterrorism Act, supplements, but does not replace, older public health laws.Â This bulletin summarizes the key provisions of the new law.
