Abstract:

East Carolina Department of Geological Sciences students under direction of Siddhartha Mitra are using soot, char and other chemical residues produced by fire to investigate and tell stories relevant to human history, the earth and the universe. Mitra is director of the integrated coastal sciences ddoctoral program.

Abstract:

East Carolina University is the only institution in the UNC System that offers instruction in glass blowing. Located in Farmville, a studio was established in concert between the town of Farmville and ECU five years ago.

Ohio native Jeff Charles Purtee initiated a fabled career as play-by-play for ECU sports in the late 1980s. Terry Holland lead the athletics deportment at ECU from 2004-2013.
