More than 100 electric power providers serve nearly 10 million people in North Carolina. These include consumer-owned electric cooperatives, investor-owned utilities, city governments, university-owned utility, or other utilities. The history, service areas, regulations of the electric power providers in the state are described and a map provides the service areas in the state.

Among the products that made Miller Custom Exteriors a real bargain: thick (versus thin) vinyl siding, steel (versus asphalt) roofs, energy efficient window panes, and steel or fiberglass (versus wood) doors. As the owner asserted, while these products’ immediate cost is greater than their standard counterparts, the payoff will be great in decades to come.

4-H and NC Cooperative Extension Service wanted to offer an updated facility including a HVAC-supplied auditorium/conference center. According to the author, the real value of this state of the art facility can’t be measured in the building. It’s calibrated in neighborly efforts ranging from wood donated by NC companies such as the Jordan Company Co (Mount Gilead) to the labor of love provided by carpenters from nearby Union Grove’s Amish community.

Abstract:
A picture says a thousand words, Hinson alluded from her remembrance of a significant photo taken during her early childhood. As Harris proved, though, sometimes events, especially when offering a hint of the unexplainable, may not need photos as a memory aid.
