Dr. R. B. Lawson, Physical Director and Associate Professor of Anatomy at the University of North Carolina, has had a very interesting career in athletics. In the thirty-five years he has been a member of the University faculty he has coached football, baseball, and gymnastics, and has served as trainer for the football team as well as teaching in the medical school. He also played football and baseball, and took part in track while attending the University, later playing semi-professional and professional baseball.

The demands of student athletes who work a full-time athletic job while going to school full time do not make it easy for athletes to graduate on time.

In ten years of official play, the UNC women’s soccer team has never lost a game on its home field at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Coach Anson Dorrance teaches female athletes to develop psychological skills and a tough work ethic. The aggressiveness Dorrance demands on the field is complemented by camaraderie and respect within the team.

Archibald Henderson Jr. has not only help lead his UNC Chapel Hill tennis team to be the National Collegiate Champions for two years, but has started making a name for himself in solo tournaments along the east coast.
