Abstract:
Southern Rail has been a staple of the Carrboro music and restaurant scene since 2007. Due to tax debt, the venue closed in December of 2015, but performers and fans of Southern Rail gathered on its last night of business to celebrate its impact on the community.

Abstract:
For the last decade, Southern Rail, The Station and the Tiger Room have served as a microcosm along Carrboro’s Main Street. The venue, which was built around a set of abandoned train cars, has been devoted to hosting music and serving Southern cuisine and drinks. However, the venue faces possible closure as the owners struggle with tax debt.
