Abstract:
In 1970, Bob Page went with some friends to a flea market to help them find missing pieces to their china set. t was here that Page had the idea to start Replacements, Ltd., selling discontinued china and crystal. The first file cabinet in his new endeavor was a recipe box with three-by-five note cards; by 1981 he had quit his job and officially started the business in a small house in Greensboro. In 1986, Page was named North Carolina Small Business Person of the Year. By then, he had over fifty-five employees, a half a million pieces of china, and fifteen thousand different patterns.

Abstract:
Bob Page is president of Greensboro-based Replacements, Ltd., the world's largest supplier of discontinued china and crystal. Since 1981, Replacements has grown from an attic operation with one part-time employee to eighty-five employees and sales of over $9 million.

Abstract:
This article presents information on a Masonic punch bowl made by the Bow factory in London for 'Halifax-Lodge/North-Carolina' that was part of a 1767 order for four Bow China bowls. This example is the first time a documented reference has been found specifying an order of Bow porcelain decorated especially for the American market. Archival and archaeological information on the bowl and its owners along with a diagnostic analysis of the bowl as an example of Bow porcelain are included.
