Abstract:
in 1992, Eva M. Clayton made history when she became the first Black woman in North Carolina to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. She first ran for the U.S. House in 1968. After leaving Congress in 2003, she accepted a post in Rome with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
