Abstract:
Early in 1969, Riegel Paper began building a new Packaging Division plant in Charlotte, and by July 1969, the company decided to move the national headquarters of the Packaging Division there also. This division accounted for over 40 percent of the company's 1968 sales of $150 million. The Charlotte plant will produce folding cartons, envelopes and other packing materials for use in the hosiery and soft-goods industry.

Package Products Company, Inc., located in Charlotte, has been one of North Carolina's ten largest industries for the past thirty-eight years. The company produces a varied line, from roll and cut labels, box wraps, folding cartons, strung tags and trading stamps to flexible packaging such as bags, envelopes, sheets, and pouches.
