Given the increase in North Carolina's population, the North Carolina Judicial Council is pushing for an increase in the number of superior court judges needed for the state.

Abstract:
The judicial rotation refers to the state's system of requiring superior court judges to serve in all courts of a region rather than just the district in which they reside. As one of the few states in the country to practice this system, the author reviews how the system functions and both the pros and cons of such a judicial procedure.

Bryan Collins won the Wake County Superior Court judgeship over incumbent Abe Jones. Collins was elected by a narrow margin 51-48. Jones leaves the court after two terms as Superior Court judge.
