Mona Hanes Templin is president of Mrs. Hanes Moravian Cookies in Clemmons, N.C. the business was started by her mother Evva Hanes in 1960. With exception to relocating the business from home to a store front in the mid-1960s and the addition of an electric mixer that blends 750 pounds of dough at a time, little has changed. All cookies are still carefully rolled, cut and packaged by hand. 10 million of the delicate crisps are produced annually.

With its inception going back to 1952, Mrs. Hanes' Moravian Cookies/ Moravian Sugar Crisp Co. was officially incorporated in 1985. Currently Mona Templin Hanes daughter of the founder Evva Hanes is president of the company.
