Abstract:
The 14th annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games will attract thousands of Americans of Scottish descent, as it does each year, to enjoy a varied two-day program featuring highland dancing, piping, track and field events, sailboat races, archery tournaments, a mountain marathon, religious services, and a parade of tartans. This year the games will host two special guests, Madame MacDougal of MacDougal, Dunlollie Castle, Oban, Scotland, world chief of clan MacDougal, and the colorful and celebrated Black Watch-Royal Highland Regiment of Canada, considered one of the most outstanding pipe bands ever to participate in the Games and Gathering.
