The Charlotte Regional Partnership has branded itself as “Charlotte USA.” The partnership’s intent is to connect companies and their job opportunities to the workforces in towns with their own distinct economies but still within the Charlotte area. While the partnership says it successfully bid and recruited twelve economic development projects in 2017, some officials wonder if the partnership is as effective as it could be, especially in light of a high-profile failure in January.

A combination of work and pleasure has long been offered by businesses to improve company productivity. What is newer is resorts creating the synthesis of work and pleasure now labeled as bleisure. The new version of an established business practice can be defined as employees experiencing the city’s local flavor through resorts amenities and services, in addition to engaging in team building initiatives.

One of the reasons why many business firms incorporate is the limited liability feature of the corporate firm, but the shareholder’s liability for corporate obligations is limited to capital contributions. This article examines situations in which a corporation’s creditors and other claimants may have recourse against the personal assets of shareholders, and discusses legal procedures under the North Carolina Business Corporation Act.

Corporate culture is a process which shapes all aspects of an organization to include its values, its ethics, and its image. A survey of CEOs in the southeastern United States and interviews of CEOs in Wilmington, North Carolina were conducted in 1985 to identify the ways in which a CEO could influence corporate culture. This article presents the survey results and analyses.
