The Masland Duraleather Company, founded in Philadelphia in 1914 by Walter E. Masland, manufactured pyroxylin coated fabric. Today the company is recognized as the leader in the field. The company's newest plant, which will open in Mocksville, will be the largest and most modern vinyl fabric plant in the South.
