Abstract:
The original Chatham Mills started in 1845 and for years has been a manufacturer of blankets. As a sideline, the company produced a quantity of homespun. A chance request by some employees for homespun so they could make suits for themselves had an unusual effect when other people saw the suits and wanted them. Soon production of homespun increased, and contracts were made with the world's largest men's tailor, L. Grief & Bro., of Baltimore. The main worry of the company now is to keep up with the homespun demand.
